Cherish the past, welcome the future

The big sailing spectacular of DelfSail took place in Delfzijl from 29 June to 4 July this year. Royal Wagenborg held its own party in a gigantic tent complex on the quayside at the Wagenborg Terminal. The celebration was almost unparalleled. The DelfSail organising committee’s slogan was “A Festival of Energy”, while Wagenborg opted for a look into the future with the motto “Cherish the Past but Welcome the Future!”.

Rows of national flags led the partygoers to the Wagenborg festival site, where they were personally welcomed by Egbert Vuursteen and Rob Wagenborg, the CEOs of Royal Wagenborg. There was a casual and above all personal atmosphere at the celebrations organised for business contacts, all Wagenborg employees, and their families on Friday 1, Saturday 2, and Sunday 3 July.

More than 2000 of our business contacts came to Delfzijl from all over the world for the grand celebration on Friday 1 July. On the Saturday, the management greeted all the employees who earn their living worldwide under the Wagenborg flag. On both the Friday and the Saturday, the two CEOs took the stage to thank all the business contacts and colleagues for their hard work and to look back together at what had been achieved.
