Wagenborg is a family business. You can sense this in everything. During the last fifty years I have worked with a lot of passion and joy. To me, my work is really my hobby.

“I started working in the workshop in Farmsum as an errand boy”, says Martin. “I did all sorts of odd jobs and I loved it. I didn’t enjoy going to school, working was what I wanted. During my career I had the opportunity to do many beautiful trips. And I’ve worked in Suriname for a year as crane driver. And I’ve done some crane- and transport work in Curacao for two years. I was beautiful there. I had the chance to see a lot of the world”.

‘Once back in the Netherlands I had several different positions within the company. Apart from crane driver I’ve worked as driver on a low loader, a single axle line truck and tandem axle. Together with my colleague, Sienes Daanje, I did special transports with conventional trailers for over 25 years. In recent years my work has become a little less heavy. Nowadays I’m back as driver on a single axle truck.

“Wagenborg is a family business. You can sense this in everything. During the last fifty years I have worked with a lot of passion and joy. To me, my work is really my hobby”.

Martin will retire as of August 2017 and we would like to wish him all the best!
