BELIEVES THAT: MY INTERNSHIP EXCEEDED ALL EXPECTATIONS

“Now I am absolutely certain about becoming a Chief Engineer. Having spent the past  months working on those two 6.300 kW engines on the m.v. Oranjeborg has been so much cooler than working on the bridge! It feels like running some kind of power plant!

I remember vividly the first time I got on board: everything is so much bigger and not as simplistic as I previously thought. There are so many aspects involved. Everything feels like one big adventure, and this is exactly why I want to go sailing. Looking back on my  internship I couldn’t have wished for a better spot. Thankfully I didn’t just have to paint and chip, I also got to learn a lot from the crew.

I hope to be able to train my second internship at Wagenborg as well, preferably on one of the A-vessels. These vessels in particular sail all over the world and I’d love to see Asia!”

“In September 2016 I boarded the m.s. Africaborg in Ulsan (South Korea) to start my internship at Wagenborg. And what an internship! Once on board I discovered that we would be the first trading vessel ever to traverse the North West Passage. This is exactly why I want to go sailing: the unexpected and the adventures!”

“Over the past five months I’ve enjoyed all places that I’ve visited. The Great Lakes were freezing! Allin all it was a very diverse journey during which I learned a great deal. The ambience on board was superb and I learned a lot from my mentors Bart de Hay (1/O) and Niels Onderwater (1/E).”

“I’m already looking forward to my second internship. I’d love to train at Wagenborg again, just because it is a reliable party.”
